Playing games is fun.
Making games is better.
Creating games with CSS is the BEST!
Join us to a new and exciting online workshop all about CSS games, and together we'll embark on a journey through the (almost) limitless possibilities modern CSS has to offer.
This is a TWO-DAY workshop: The 24th & 27th of June, both sessions starting at 11 am EDT, and lasting approximately 2.5 hours.
After several successful runs last year, we gathered the participants' feedback, made some adjustments, added a few improvements, and now we're all set and ready to do it again!
This time around, we've added scroll-driven animations, container units, and more tips and tricks to the mix.
Whether you're a seasoned developer looking to expand your skill set or a newcomer eager to explore the creative potential of CSS, this workshop is designed to inspire and empower you.
Throughout this interactive workshop, you'll learn the fundamentals of CSS game development, from basic gameplay mechanics to implementing engaging user interactions, all without a single line of JavaScript.
Discover how to harness the power of animations, new ways to work with transitions, and unlock the secrets of transforms.
The workshop, led by Kevin Powell and Amit Sheen, combines hands-on tutorials with insightful discussions, offering you the knowledge and support you need to bring your game ideas to life.
Whether you dream of crafting retro-inspired arcade classics, puzzle adventures, or simple quizzes, this workshop will equip you with the tools and guidance to turn your vision into reality.
So, if you're ready to level up your CSS skills and unleash your creativity, hop on board. Let's push the boundaries of what's possible with CSS and create games that delight, inspire, and captivate players of all types. See you in the workshop!
Join and enjoy the session! Ask everything that you don’t understand or you would do differently. You will build it together. So you can ”build” your skills, while building the game.
We tend to think of CSS as a repetitive, convoluted language, limited to changing the look of a page. Trying to use it to make a game challenged me to develop new perspectives and opened my eyes to new possibilities in translating a visual experience into CSS that "feels right."
There is much to learn about css and css is so much cool and powerful today. One thing in this workshop is guaranteed: you learn a lot! You will have material and topics to play around with for months.
